Disney processing time

We’ve been home now for about 2 weeks, it feels no different than if we had just left yesterday. I’ve spoken to others and we are not alone in our withdrawal from the Mouse! I often get asked why we go every year.

That and do I really think my kids will remember the yearly trips being so young.

The reality is I don’t think I know other than it feels like home. The customer service and the care taken of the park isn’t the same but it is still leaps and bounds from what we experience else where.

As we continue to process being home and not on vacation with the mouse I have the pleasure of editing the blogs about the trip or the trip report if you want to call it that. And sorting over 16gb of pictures. Yay me!

The pictures make it worse. You see all the smiles and fun things you did and you want to head back right away.

Soon I hope. Soon!

My Disney dream job

During my time here in Disneyland I have seen Cast Members with jobs in all positions, from costumed to cleaners. Characters and even managers walking the parks. The ones that I see taking the most time with guests are the security and the street sweepers / cleaning crew.

I have always said I would rather do any customer service job if:

A) It paid like it should. Most people give me a stunned look when I say this. Customer service mistakenly is seen as a entry level position and frankly it is not. It should be something you work your way up to. Customer service is the front line of your company.

B) The hours were actually desirable. Unless you are a law firm or a bank most customer service positions are when it’s convenient to the customer, as it should be.

So what would my Disney dream job be?

I would say hands down I would love to be a street sweeper / cleaner. The interaction with guests all shift, the chance to be part of their experience, you could not find more rewarding work anywhere.

Maybe one day when I retire or if there is a lottery win coming my way! For now I will have to keep doing trips to Disney and dreaming of my dream job here!
